Day 190

Sunday 22nd February

Hunter got a bit burnt at the naming day and didn't have too great a night... he was fussy and power spewed his last bottle of the night. Thought it might've been a bit of heat stroke but he also has his 2nd tooth coming through so that could've affected him too. Despite having a pink nose and pink cheeks on the Saturday night, by Sunday it was mostly faded which makes me think that he is definitely going to get his fathers skin.

He did some swimming today...He is such a cautious bubba, it's so funny. Everytime we put him in the pool, we went through the same ritual. He won't put his feet in the water until he's good and ready. After that, he's all fine. And he loves it. If it'd been warmer earlier on in the week instead of us getting all that rain, he'd be pool crazy by now. But he's just warming up to it as we are getting ready to leave, lol.

Ready to go!

This is pretty nifty!

Pretty good indeed.

Nan put on the famous pork roast tonight, which was, as usual, awesome. Mmmm, crackling. I wish I could do crackling like that. After dinner we put the kids down on the floor and Josh was down there playing with them. Hunter REALLY liked Josh's phone and we used it as bait to encourage him to crawl. By the end of the night, he was crawling properly (if slowly!) around after it.

Day 189

Saturday 21st February

Miss Charli Mae's Naming Day!

It was a nice, warm, sunny day. Muggy too, after all that rain. It was a nice casual laid-back ceremony - only thing was the celebrant called Kali "Carly" throughout most of it, lol. We solemnly swore to always be there for Charli should she need it and we got cute little keepsakes - a framed pic of Charli, a nice lil poem and her stamped footprints. Big LOL moment - Josh giving one to Nathan that said "Godmother" without even realising - he obviously read the poem (not!).

After the ceremony we mostly just sat around eating, lol. And socialising. So far everyone from up there is coming down for Hunter's first birthday in August. I asked Grandma today and she was very keen.

Hunter chills with a beer.. haha!

And again...crashed out in the pram!

Ditto, but add in Dad.

Unfortunately, Rob was shattered. It started raining about 6pm so we had to call off our trip to Wauchope dogs, given that we had no idea what sort of facilities they had for rain. It wouldn't have mattered if it was just Rob and I, but we couldn't take Hunter without knowing if there was a proper covered, sheltered area, preferably inside. And it would've been no fun anyway - wouldn't be able to watch them parade, or go down along the fence and watch from the post. Double bugger - at least 2 of Rolly's offspring were in and one of them won :( Would've been a great thrill for us to have seen that. We will get there soon Rob. I promise! Lol

Day 188

Friday 20th February

We were finally able to get out and do stuff today. We had Dad drop us off in town and we walked the length of the breakwall. It was VERY hot - so muggy! I got burnt :( Thankfully though, Hunter had his hat and sunscreen on as his run-a-round stroller doesn't provide any protection from the weather. We went to this really nice place for lunch called the Humble Sandwich, which is where the post office used to be...and then Mum was finished work so she walked into town to meet us and Dad came to pick us all up. Rob discovered that the Wauchope dog meeting was a night meeting and got incredibly overexcited lol.

Sound asleep on the breakwall walk

Getting his feet wet... not sure!

Not so bad after all!

Day 187

Thursday 19th February

Yay. A pretty decent day! And we finally got Kali's camera working (thanks Bro! lol) so I have some better pics! No offense Mum and Dad, but your still camera isn't that crash hot, lol. Josh and Kali and Charli came over for tea like they always do on a Thursday and then after dinner Nan, Pop and Uncle John (who is up visiting) came over so that he could meet the two bubbas. Rob put Hunter's foot into the pool and he wasn't a huge fan! All the rain made it pretty chilly!

Day 186

Wednesday 18th February

So. Looks like the rain -might- have stopped. Fingers crossed, lol. Think we got about 34 inches. Ridiculous! Could really do with even just some of that down south. We went out for dinner tonight to the BlueWater Bar which used to be the old rollerblading rink at Peppermint Park! RIP Rollerblading Rink! I spent many a Thursday afternoon there for sport in my high school years. Not a huge dinner menu choice so I had the chicken dish (when all else fails, have chicken). Hunter put in another stellar performance, behaving perfectly. He had his dinner when we got there, and then was happy to be passed around to people for the rest of the night. Hopefully the weather keeps getting better! I'd like to actually be able to do a couple of things!

Day 185

Tuesday 17th February

Hunter is 6 months old! Today! Wow :) It has gone so fast.

Rain. Rain. Annnnnd... more rain! Kali and I went into town and did some shopping leaving both the kids at home with Dad and Rob. Dad slightly panicked about that. Rob much more relaxed, lol.

Hunter with Nanna after she got home from work

Believe it or not, he's actually sound asleep in this picture. Odd, odd position to sleep in, haha.

Day 184

Monday 16th February

Okay so it hasn't stopped raining since we got here. Pretty much 24hrs of non stop heavy rain and it's possible that the backyard may flood, lol. It's fascinating to Rob, who hasn't seen rain like this in about 10 years. Maybe more. Hunter had about 10 hours sleep over night, he went to bed about 9 and woke up about 7 which was really good. So now he's cheerful and happy and wrapping everyone around his little finger.

Took him over to meet Grandma after tea and he gained himself another fan. Even if she was having heart palpitations when I was throwing him up into the air and swinging him around!
