Day 71

Sunday 26th October

Relaxation day... so Hunter could recover from his big night... lol.

Day 70

Saturday 25th October

TopGun night!! Hunter was of course, dressed up in his yellow best supporting El Galo! We had to get there early for some ridiculous reason Rob declined to tell anyone, so we hung out in the boardroom for a while. I dressed Hunter as it had been very warm all day and too hot in the car to put the yellow outfit on! Micky Blue was there, introduced us to his girlfriend, who is lovely. He definitely needs to keep her. We went upstairs and had dinner, I showed Hunter around a bit! Could not believe how well behaved he was... He got grizzly once early in the night and Mum held him while I had my entree. He started to go to sleep so she put him in the pram and rocked him and he fell asleep and stayed that way for hours! Despite the noise of the dining room, and everyone (read: AFL footballers) cheering for dogs they had backed. We took him downstairs before the big race and even the noise down there didn't wake him up! I had to though, because EL GALO WON! So I got him out of the pram and Seona got us into the presentation area so he could be a part of it. Go the yellow! We said we'll have to rent him out now. Hunter will be available for all Group finals, to be dressed in the dog's colours. He makes a good mascot!

Was a good night...we didn't get home til after 1 and that's only coz we really had to leave to get Lil Man home.

Day 69

Friday 24th October

Hunter had his 2 month needles today! :( His appt was at 9:45 and I was happy to see that Kellie, my doctor is back! Need to make an appt with her soon, for some other stuff! Hunter was very good. He got the polio one by mouth, and then 2 needles, one in each chubby thigh at the same time, to minimise the stress. Kellie did one needle and the nurse did the other. The second the needles went in, he went bright red and screamed blue murder! Rob was holding him and I got his bottle ready. Shoved it in and he was fine, drank about half of it. We had to wait around for about 10mins afterwards, just in case he had a reaction but he seemed fine, propped up on Rob's shoulder. When we left, we met Mum and Dad at the cafe, where they'd been waiting for us to finish up at the doctors. They'd arrived a bit earlier for their weekend visit and went to grab some brekky.

Rob had a preview for the TopGun to do at 927 that went live on Sky so he took off not long after we got back home. Mum and Dad cuddled Hunter a lot, took some photos, and probably some video. We watched Rob's preview, then we went for a walk into Lara. I had something to post and Mum and Dad wanted to pick up a few things and get something for lunch.

Luckily, Hunter had no reaction to his needles, not even a mild fever. I had given him a dose of baby panadol before he went, then about 6 hrs later, just as a preventative measure. You'd never even know he'd had them.

Isn't he cute in his baby elmo outfit?

Day 68

Thursday 23rd October

Rob had Horsham twilight today, not Sandown night so he was off and gone at about 12 and home at 10, like a typical Tuesday. Lil Man and I didn't get up to much, just the routine of sleep, bottle, playtime, repeat! I have to say, Hunter wakes up a LOT better than I do! He always has big smiles and laughs and wants to play. Its so cute, especially when you walk into the room and bend over his cot and he just breaks out into a huge smile!

These pics are a sequence I took while he was interacting with Rob. He pulls all sorts of faces at the moment and loves it when you talk to him, and pull faces back.

Day 67

Wednesday 22nd October

Rob had the day off today as there was no Warrnambool due to Warrnambool show... Another weird thing. And it was a public holiday for greater Geelong with Geelong Cup being on, so with nowhere to go and nothing to do we stayed home and had a relaxing day of just looking after bubba. He had his first "big bath" with Rob that night, which he seemed to enjoy. He loves the water.

Day 66

Tuesday 21st October

Rang up to make the appointment for Hunter's needles for tomorrow and was told it's a public holiday. Hmm. Geelong Cup, apparently. They seem to hand out public holidays at the drop of a hat here in Victoria. Schools are always getting days off for the show, or for a cup, or for days where teachers are writing reports! WTF? Anyway, everyone apparently has a day off tomorrow, including doctors and nurses so I made it for Friday, 9:45am. That way he'll still have close on 36hrs before we have TopGun so hopefully he won't have many effects from them, or if he does, he recovers quickly.

Day 65

Monday 20th October

Craptastic day weather wise today, so not a lot happened. Just the usual routine of sleep, feed, playtime. Repeat!

Getting ready for shower before bed...

If he keeps pulling these faces when I kiss him, I might get a complex... lol

Things are very serious....

Day 64

Sunday 19th October

Much much cooler today. Again H and I were flying as a duo, due to Rob having to go to Sydney to tape the Catching Pen. He left around 8:30am and got back around the same time pm I think. Rochelle was here for a while, til about 11ish, then she toddled off to work and it was just Hunter and I for the rest of the day. We had fun with toys and playtime and he scared the crap out of me when he was sleeping once but apart from that small incident, it was a very good day!

We had cuddles...

And kisses....

And Oooh face...

Watched a bit of tv... Hunter already thinks that Rihanna is smokin'....

Playtime... trying to lift his head enough to see me properly...

Getting there....

Eye contact!!

Not so hard after all....

He is so strong... He was like that for ages. I think he was trying to move towards me, and trying to grab his toy. But he just can't put all the bits and pieces and movements together yet.

Day 63

Saturday 18th October

Today was HOT.... very hot. Hit 33 degrees late into the afternoon, which probably felt more like 38 to us, as it has come on so fast! Yesterday was just nice, today was uncomfortable and hot. Hunter was ok in it, but it was hard for him to sleep as he won't go down unwrapped, I guess it feels weird to him. And it was too hot to wrap him, even in cotton. So he spent most of the day undressed on his playmat in a cooler part of the house. After dinner it started to cool down so we went for a walk and took him in the pram and he finally fell asleep there. Even at night when it was his bedtime, I dressed him in something light and only wrapped him up in cotton, the night stayed that warm! If this is a taste of what summer is to be like, I'm not looking forward to it...

Day 62

Friday 17th October

Hunter is 2 months old! Today was a beautiful day, mid 20s at the lowest. I put a summer outfit on Hunter that Chellie brought him and he looked so gorgeous! We had shopping to do today and Mary had an appointment in Geelong so we met her for lunch afterward. We did a bit of fun shopping first - I got Hunter a couple of 0000 summer outfits as we're sposed to have a very warm weekend and he only really has 2 cool outfits that fit him. Then we went to Pumpkin Patch to buy a birthday present for Ruby Diva and I also spotted a nice yellow outfit for Hunter. Seona told me that Hunter has to wear yellow on TopGun night, because El Galo has drawn the 5 box! He didn't really have anything yellow that he could wear out, and I looked in Target but everything yellow that was cute was 000 or 00 which are way too big. Then I found a really cute little yellow outfit in PP so I picked that up for him to wear when we go to the TopGun. After that we did grocery shopping, I grabbed a Boost Juice and then it was time to come home and get ready for Geelong Cup. That wasn't too bad a night in the end, although it started off pretty boring! I was on a table with all these people I didn't know and Rob buggered off to do work/interviews/etc. But we all got talking and I had a great time! One of the women on my table who works for Geelong Harness Racing, used to live in the same street that we live in. Talk about weird! And one guy on the table used to live with Rob 20 years ago! Was a bit disappointed that I didn't get a few stories about that!

Todays pics are Hunter bonding with Blanky....bonding included cuddling...and some slobbering on! I picked up Blanky when it was time to change Hunter to go to Geelong and it was all wet and slimy in one spot! Nice! Won't take him long before his Blanky looks exactly like Ruby's does Cass!

Day 61

Thursday 16th October

We took Hunter to Sandown and once again he was incredibly well behaved. At first he was a bit restless because the broadcast box was too well lit and the noise of Rob going in and out would wake him up, the PA would. So we had the idea of getting the "secret room" unlocked. It's a room upstairs 3 rooms down from the broadcast box that no one ever uses. I've been going to Sandown for 2 years and I've seen it unlocked once - Melb Cup Day last year. And the only people that went in there were Rob and I, to have a sticky beak at what the hell was actually in there, lol. It's got some nice leather couches, a TV, a bar fridge and...that's about it. I think it's some sort of directors room where they might've watched races from a long time ago. Now they sit downstairs in the grandstand. Or maybe they brought sponsors or whatever up to watch the races. It's a good view. If we take Hunter, I will get them to unlock that room each time, because it was quite dark and very quiet. Once he had his bottle at 8pm and had some cuddles with Seona and Jason, who came up to see him, he went to sleep and didn't wake up until we got home! I meant to take the camera with me so we could get some pics of him at the dogs but of course I forgot so these pics were taken when we got home, as he was (sort of) waking up.

Day 60

Wednesday 15th October

Not much to report today but Hunter's appetite is back thankfully! It was so unlike him not to want any of his bottle that I was a bit worried. However he's pretty much back to normal today, so that's good! He's had a good day... Been very good. He actually fell asleep on his 8pm bottle so I took him straight in to the cot and put him down. He never stirred. He had some fun today playing on his playmat... he really loves all the toys.

Day 59

Tuesday 14th October

Hunter had his 2 month appt with the Maternal Health Nurse today. He is doing very well... he weighs 5kg now! Up 790g from his last visit a month ago! So he's very healthy and clearly has a Testa appetite! He is now 56.5cm long, which is a 5cm growth since birth and I think his head is 39cm around now, about 3cm growth since his birth. He is in the 50th percentile for pretty much everything, meaning his growth in all areas is right on the average. Not too much, not too little, which is awesome.

He wasn't too interested in any of his bottles last night, not sure why. It was a real struggle to get him to drink anything and most of the time he would have about 60m and then completely lose interest and start gagging on the teat if you put the bottle back in his mouth. There was nothing wrong with him - no fever, he wasn't distressed. He was just really really sleepy. Slept for nearly the whole afternoon and evening actually. Hopefully he is hungrier tomorrow.

Day 58

Monday 13th October

These pics brought back memories, lol. Hunter fell asleep in my arms today so I put him down without wrapping him up like I usually do and he went into his "I surrender" position with the arms up! He used to sleep like that all the time when we first brought him home, pre-wrapping him up like a Christmas present days. He was very good today! He's good pretty much every day really. He has his 2 month check up tomorrow at the MHC and I'll have to make the appt for his needles too :( Poor Chubba!
