Day 34

Friday 19th September

Another not-very-nice day so we were stuck inside! :( Getting so sick of it! We had a house inspection today, so the morning was spent tidying up and fixing up a few things that needed to be done. That was all over in 15 minutes and then I wanted to go grocery shopping but we couldn't because the doofus was coming to mow the lawns and he's terrified of the dogs and requires them to be locked up before he even enters the property! And they didn't turn up until nearly 4 so by then it was way too late! Today's pics are Hunter struggling to wake up for his last feed... it took him well over an hour!! Chelle and I had a lot of fun watching him though, as he stretched and struggled and groaned and sighed. He made the cutest faces!

Day 33

Thursday 18th September

Today we had our 2nd Mothers Group meeting. It was a nice enough day - overcast and coolish but no rain and more importantly, no wind! So I decided to walk down to the meeting as the exercise and fresh air would be good for us both. I rugged Hunter up again in his little jacket and beanie and Rob took some pics before we left. Mothers Group meeting was good, we watched 2 rather informative but lame videos with some craptastic acting about sleeping and settling - recognising that baby is tired, etc. They make it look sooo easy in the vid. See baby is tired, pick up baby, wrap baby, put baby in cot, baby sleeps. Yeah... right! The second video was on SIDS and was basically stuff that we know already - sleep on back not on tummy, don't cover the baby's face, etc. Still there was some good discussion. We lost 3 people today and only had 10 of us there, so I'm guessing a few will drop off. It finished up about 3 and I walked home again, there was like 2 spits of rain on my way home but that was it. Hopefully tomorrow is nice too. I'd like to make walks in the pram a regular thing!

Day 32

Wednesday 17th September

Hunter is one month old today! And it's his big brother Elijah's 12th birthday so happy birthday to Elijah, we love you lots!! Today Nanny and Pa came to visit from Colac. They got here about 8:45am and stayed for lunch which was fish and chips. After lunch they caught the train into Geelong to have a look at the new extended Westfields and thank God, it was a nice today today! The sun was out, the gale force wind had finally disappeared and it was spring-like! So we bundled H into the pram and walked down to the station with Nanny & Pa to get some fresh air and exercise. Hunter has been a bit unsettled today, but we finally figured out why at about 9:20 when we were presented with a dirty nappy after what must've been hours of trying to produce one! He is much more content now, a different baby.

Day 31

Tuesday 16th September

Just made it!! These photos were taken at about 11:55pm as I spent large parts of the day asleep on the lounge or trying to sleep as I think I'm getting the flu :(

Day 30

Monday 15th September

Hunter had his 4 week appointment at the Maternal Health Centre today. It was absolutely freezing, blowing a gale and raining on and off so I made sure I rugged him up good! A little woollen beanie and one of his little knitted jackets that Nana from Port Macquarie made him, on top of his very warm suit. He looked like a garden gnome, with the pointed beanie and those chubby chubby cheeks!! He did very well at his appointment, we were reminded about vaccinations coming up soon (in another month's time) and he was weighed again... 4.21kg... There's a reason why he's called the Chubba Bubba :) He put on 330g in 2 weeks and Hillary is very happy with him. He was asleep before we left (only went to sleep about half an hour before we had to be there) and actually pretty much slept through the whole appointment, even being stripped off naked to be weighed! He was still asleep when we got home and we put him straight into the bassinette after taking off his woollens, and he's still sleeping. So a good day sleep! Finally!

Day 29

Sunday 14th September

Thankfully Hunter had a much better night last night... slept til after 4, and then again from about 5-8. He also had another sleep in his big bed but hasn't slept since... He's so overtired, hopefully though he will sleep after his next feed at about midnight. He desperately needs it. He has dozed a couple of times, but hasn't had a real good sleep today. I put his little grey and blue Bonds outfit on him, even though it's too big, as it's a size 000. But it looks so good on him! It has no feet in it and today was not as nice as yesterday so he wore his first pair of socks! And managed to keep them on his feet :)

Day 28

Saturday 13th September

Happy Birthday Uncle Josh :)

Hunter carried over his theme of not sleeping into the night. I went to bed at 1am but Rob was up with him until about 3am, and then again at 6! I slept in (lol yay) til about 10... He was sleeping when I got up, but woke up not long after for a feed. Rob got him back to sleep and then Rob went to bed too, as he'd only had probably not even 3hrs sleep! Hunter woke up about half an hour later though, and I think it was because he was hot! It was about 26 degrees here today, and gorgeous. He had a flannel wrap on, so I took that off, and rewrapped him in a muslin cotton one and took him into "his" room, which until now, he had barely set foot in! It was cooler in there, as the sun doesn't get in, so I put him down the end of his cot and he fell asleep within 10 mins and slept for 3 hrs! So the cot is a success so far. Thought it would be a good idea to start getting him used to it, so that when he goes into that room full time, it's not scary and unfamiliar!
