Saturday 30th August
Today was Hunter's official due date and he clocks up 2 weeks of life! And to celebrate Mum... left him alone! Lol. Mum and I caught the train into Melbourne to go to DFO to do a bit of shopping. Mum was busting to get there and I'm always up for a shopping trip! I know I can leave Hunter with Rob no worries... actually he's probably much more confident looking after him for the day than I am!
A successful shopping trip was had... I bought 2 pairs of shoes, 2 woollen jackets, 3 knitted tops, a pair of sunglasses and a birthday present for Rob's great niece Lily who turns 2 tomorrow. We are heading down to have lunch with his parents and then go to Lily's 2nd birthday. Mum bought some shoes and some sunglasses.
Today's pics are Hunter on his playmat, sussing out Tigger, Pooh and Eeyore and some pics of me having a chat to Aunty Cassie on facebook with Hunter laying on the couch beside me. He stayed there for ages, very content.. I think he was staring at the frogs on my pyjama pants!

Day 13
Friday 29th August
Today was another big day for Hunter with an outing down to Torquay and Queenscliff. Dad wanted to see that part of the coast so we went to Torquay first and had a bit of a drive around the beaches and coffee in 'town'. Then Mum and I had a quick look in the surf shops but there wasn't much we wanted to buy (too expensive... we're saving our $$$ for DFO tomorrow!) and then we drove to Queenscliff for lunch. Rob took us to the 'best fish & chip place in the world' apparently! Hunter slept for pretty much the entire time in the car in his car seat! He loves the car.... which may come in handy when we travel with Rob to Horsham and Sandown in the future.

Day 12
Thursday 28th August
Today Hunter tried out his new swing that Mum and Dad bought him. He seemed to like it and it put him to sleep for a little while when nothing else would! I can see it getting a work out in the future!
Rob also took some pics of Hunter having cuddles with me while I was on the phone to his Nana Shirley who rang to see how everything was going. She loved the pics of Hunter that she got in the mail.

Day 11
Wednesday, 27th August was Hunter's first big outing! We went to the Meadows dogs (yep on Rob's holiday the first place we went was a greyhound meeting!) to cheer on some of Aunty Diane & Uncle Paul's dogs! It's only a short meeting so we thought it would be a good first outing although it was a little chilly! Hunter slept from the moment we put him in the car seat at 11am until I woke him at 1:30pm for a change and a feed and then he was out like a light again from then until nearly 5pm when we got home. This meant that he was awake most of the evening and at random points during the night! While he was cranky he got some tummy time on Dad's chest, which he loved... he was very content until we tried to put him in his bassinette - then he started to scream, so back on Dad he went.

Day 10
Today was Mum's first time leaving bub! Left him at home with Rob while I went shopping with Mum and Dad for a bit of 'out of the house' time. We got piccies developed, I bought some new things for Hunter and some jeans for myself... yay, size 10 non-maternity jeans! Woohoo! On the way home, looking at all the pics, Dad realised that he is in very few pics with Hunter so when Hunter woke up, we got Dad to give him his bottle and I took some pics! So they are the Pics of the Day!

Day 7
Day 4
Hunter Day 2
Hunter... His First Day
I read somewhere on the internet about a girl that had a baby and wanted to undertake a challenge to post at least one photo of the baby for every day of the first year of her life so she would have a record of how much and how quickly the baby changed. I thought that was a great idea so I have decided to do the same thing with Hunter. I will take at least one photo everyday. I might not update everyday, but there will still be one photo for each day.
Day 1
The first pic is taken at less than an hour old, after they had cleaned him up and I'd had a cuddle I asked what he weighed so they plunked him on the scales for me. I had expected him to be about 7lb... was very surprised when he came up a touch over 8lb!! The second pic is a close up of his birth weight. My little chubba bubba! The third pic was taken a couple of hours later after I came back from surgery and they got me up and dressed and feeling slightly human again! He was dressed (or half dressed, as the stupid bulky nappy they had on him made it hard to button up his little wondersuit the whole way) and then they gave him to me for a feed and another cuddle. Rob went a bit mad taking pics, lol. How do I look for someone who gave birth about 5hrs previously? :P
